News & Press

February 2015

To my delighted surprise, I was one of 40 women picked as honorees at L.A. Biz's inaugural Women of Influence Awards.  This humbling group of Amazons included doctors, lead counsel for the Port of LA, Vice Presidents at Disney and ESPN, and the "Martha Stewart of Marijuana."  Wonderful luncheon and even better company.  Thank you to everyone involved!

October 2014

Pro bono video I did for Glamour Project: a friend's wonderful charity that provides makeovers and loving fun to women in homeless shelters.  Filmed a few years ago with an old camera.  Finally edited this month!  Where does the time go?

June 2014

I wrote an article for agnes films: a community of women filmmakers.  This valuable resource and space for female filmmakers is the brainchild of Alexandra Hidalgo and Denah Johnston.  I am incredibly grateful for their tireless efforts in advancing the work of women.

February 2014

KPCC, the NPR affiliate station of LA, aired a segment about one of my documentaries on Take Two. Myself and one of the subjects were interviewed by the host A Martinez and reporter Leo Duran.

July 2013

Just finished a micro-documentary for the fabulous ladies of The Blue Ribbon on their remarkable program, the Children's Festival.

October 2012

I had the pleasure of helping out on these great videos.  Local Voices, a media campaign that helps voters in battleground states tell their own stories, has won numerous awards for best presidential campaign ads.

July 2012

My most recent micro-documentary!  In making it, I learned that working with former gang members is easier than working with 7th grade students.  But reliving-middle-school-stress aside, documenting this remarkable and innovative program with a crackerjack team of arts administrators was wholly and deeply rewarding.

May 2012

Although I hope none of you ever have to relive middle school, it was a joy following these students from 6th into 8th grade for Center Theatre Group.

February 2012

My recent work with Otis College yielded this video.

January 2012

After 15 years, 50 videos, a feature and a short, my first documentary reel.

March 2011

I provided the videography on this excellent video made by The Broad Stage.

October 2010

I'm the first featured documentary filmmaker in, a site for female filmmakers.

September 2010

Here is my music video for Noam Weinstein's song "We're All Going There".  Video made from friend found footage contributions.

June 2010

SSBD reviewed in Spring 2010 issue of Films for the Feminist Classroom.

Transformers vs Rosy Rhee

A comparison of my film Same Same, but Different to Transformers.

February 2010

Randy Riggs wrote a lovely piece about my Wifebeater project in Mental Floss.

January 2010

The California Arts Council asked me to teach workshops at their Contractors' Conference in San Diego (Jan 11), LA (Jan 19), and the Bay area (Feb 4) on video documentation for Teaching Artists.

So excited to meet artists all over California!
